Latest Smart Glasses – Top 5 Rated Smart Glasses In May 2023

The best smart glasses, also known as the best-augmented reality glasses, open new ways for people to use apps and the internet. This is because digital images are now beamed right into your eyes, eliminating the need to look at a screen to view them.

Additionally, they provide limitless entertainment, information, education, and fun opportunities by superimposing digital images over your real-world perception. Consider experiencing what new furniture might look like in your actual home or viewing map directions in real space.

Additionally, some models allow you to record audio and video of what you see, have microphones for phone calls, and have speakers for listening to music.

Even the most affordable smart glasses can be used to watch movies, and some can be connected to a PC, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X for gaming. But before you get too excited, let me remind you that the technology is still in its infancy.

Even the best-augmented reality glasses are still in the prototype stage (as opposed to the best virtual reality or mixed reality headsets). It all has much in common with early pre-iPad tablets or the first smartwatches that hit the market.

Best Smart Glasses

Having checked, we will discuss some of the best smart glasses we have discovered. They include:

1. Nreal Air AR glasses

Nreal Air AR glasses are similar to VR headsets in that they are super-light and portable, and can be used to view content on a huge display that looks like it’s suspended in mid-air. However, they don’t feature a camera and are only compatible with certain modern smartphones. The biggest downside is that they don’t come with their own battery, and the only way to control the glasses is via a smartphone.

Battery life: Depends on the phone
Cameras: No

2. Snap Spectacles 3

The Snap Spectacles 3 AR glasses are great for social media, and their parent company Snap is at the forefront of AR developments. The new model, Snap Spectacles 4, is the first in the series to offer augmented reality features in real-time. The glasses come with two speakers, four mics, two cameras, two microphones, and 4GB flash storage. Users can apply filters to their photos and videos but can’t see them appear in real life.

SPECIFICATIONS
Dimensions: 47 x 25 x 153 mm
Weight: 56.5g

Cameras: 2

Cons

3. Engo Eyewear Engo 2

The Engo Eyewear Engo 2 are designed for those who love to exercise and keep track of their stats. They provide real-time data such as heart rate, power, pace, distance travelled, time elapsed, and elevation gained and can be set up from both Android and iOS phones. However, the glasses are not perfect in practice due to blurry images, bulkiness, and difficulty distinguishing hand swipes from other things in the field of view. However, they are the best AR glasses for sports activities available at the moment, and there is a 30-day trial, so if you don’t like them, you can return them.

SPECIFICATIONS
Dimensions: 138 x 49 x 133mm (standard); 139 x 61 x 133mm (large)
Weight: 36g (standard); 41g (large)

Cameras: 1
Speakers: No
Microphones: No

Pros

  • See data in your field of view
  • Interact with gesture swipes
  • Good battery life

Cons

  • Must be positioned very carefully

4. Lenovo ThinkReality A3

AR glasses have enormous potential for increasing productivity and efficiency at work and are not just for amusement. Here, Lenovo is in the driver’s seat. The ThinkReality A3 smart glasses still have a lot to offer developers and early adopters experimenting with augmented reality in the workplace, even though everyone is raving about their upcoming Glasses T1, which is anticipated to launch later this year.
The glasses, first made available in December 2021, feature a 1080p, stereoscopic 3D display with 200 nits of brightness, allowing you to design and personalize your workspace using augmented reality. Additionally, there is an 8MP camera with video recording capabilities, hand tracking, three noise-cancelling microphones, and built-in stereo speakers.
The glasses have an IP54 rating for water resistance. Though there is a USB port, there isn’t an audio jack to be aware of. Furthermore, the glasses lack an internal battery and must be connected to a compatible phone or computer to operate.
