The Best Smartwatch 2023 – Top Wearable Smartphone Companions For You And Their Specifications

The top smartwatches can track your workouts and activity levels and provide metrics for your health and recovery. Additionally, they keep you connected by sending calls and notifications to your wrist, allowing you to use meditation apps, and more. Some even include GPS to monitor your runs, rides and walks. Even the time is displayed.

A smartwatch, which functions as both a wristwatch and a smartphone companion, can help you stay motivated if you’re having trouble sticking to better habits. By displaying important metrics during endurance exercises like pace, time, and calories burned, it also motivates you to keep going during a strenuous run or workout.

Therefore, it might be a good idea for you to invest in one, whether you want a stylish timepiece with some extra smarts, have health concerns, or lead an active lifestyle. If you’re on a tight budget and don’t care about getting top-of-the-line features, there are affordable smartwatches that might work for you.

The majority of smartwatches, including well-known models like the most recent Apple Watch and Samsung smartwatches, have been tested and reviewed by us. There is something for everyone here because we also looked at Fitbit’s options and Wear OS watches from companies like Fossil and Mobvoi. So, keeping in mind the various features, sizes, shapes, and smartphone compatibility, we’ve compiled the best of them here.

The Best Smartwatch

Why TechRobin is reliable is To help you choose the best option, our knowledgeable reviewers test and compare goods and services for hours. To give you the best smartwatch options for you. The following includes the discovered 10 best smartwatches for you:

1. Samsung Galaxy Watch 5

The best Android smartwatch overall
SPECIFICATIONS
OS: Wear OS
Compatibility: Android
Display: 1.4-inch 450 x 450 Super AMOLED
Processor: Dual-core 1.18GHz Cortex-A55
Onboard storage: 16GB
Battery duration: One day
Charging method: Qi wireless charging
IP rating: IP68
Connectivity: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS

In every sense of the word, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 is a smart-looking timepiece. While having strong features, it looks fantastic on your wrist. A Super AMOLED display is clear and sharp and can handle extremely bright outdoor scenes.

Although you’ll benefit the most when paired with a Samsung smartphone, it performs quickly. The iPhone is also not supported here.

The highlight of this is the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5’s capability to track your body composition in addition to SmartThings integration. With extensive sleep tracking and other features that can help you get the most out of every day, it’s on the verge of being the ultimate fitness tool. But it’s a shame about the one-day battery life.

2. Apple Watch SE 2

The best Apple Watch for iPhone users on a budget
SPECIFICATIONS
OS: watchOS 9
Compatibility: iOS
Display: 1.78″ OLED
Processor: Apple S8
Onboard storage: 32GB
Battery: 18 hours
Charging method: Wireless
IP rating: Water-resistant to 50m
Connectivity: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, LTE

The Apple Watch SE 2 is conceivably the best Apple Watch for most users because it is significantly less expensive than the Apple Watch 8. Yet, it shares many of its key features and even its chipset.

The main features of the Apple Watch SE 2 that it is missing are an always-on display, an ECG, and blood oxygen tracking, but it still has a wealth of health and fitness tools and potentially life-saving features like Car Crash Detection.

It is also incredibly light and comfortable to wear, powerful, and has a battery life that is impressive for a smartwatch. It, therefore, achieves an excellent balance between cost and performance and is an excellent, relatively affordable choice.

3. Apple Watch Ultra

The best premium Apple Watch
SPECIFICATIONS
OS: watchOS 9
Compatibility: iOS
Display: 1.9″ OLED
Processor: Apple S8
Onboard storage: 32GB
Battery: 36 hours
Charging method: Wireless
IP rating: Water-resistant to 100m
Connectivity: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, LTE

The Apple Watch Ultra is the top-tier model and costs top dollar. It has grown in size and added a customizable action button with actually helpful features. The Apple Watch Ultra competes with many Garmin watches in terms of its ability to withstand various terrains.

Although it has a longer battery life than the standard Apple Watch, a strong and accurate GPS is great for exploring, and there is a diving sensor for those who love diving. Additionally, you get all the advantages of other Apple Watches, ensuring you can always monitor your health.

It’s expensive but powerful. And during testing, we easily found this to be the most capable wearable the brand has ever made.

4. Apple Watch 8

The best mid-range Apple watch
SPECIFICATIONS
OS: watchOS 9
Compatibility: iOS
Display: 1.69 / 1.9″ OLED
Processor: Apple S8
Onboard storage: 32GB
Battery: 18 hours
Charging method: Wireless
IP rating: Water-resistant to 50m
Connectivity: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, LTE

The Apple Watch 8 is a great option within the Apple Watch family of devices, which is the best family of smartwatches. You get access to all of Apple’s most recent watchOS features without having to spend extra money on an unnecessary adventure kit. There is a reason why Apple’s recognizable squircle design and enormous display are so well-liked, even though its battery life is still average and it looks the same as before.

We discovered that the new processor slightly increases speed, while a new tool for detecting car accidents has the potential to save your life (though hopefully, you’ll never need it). Additionally, watchOS 9 offers all its advantages, including better interval training features and improved fitness stats. The Apple Watch 8 is a fantastic all-arounder if you want the Apple Watch experience.

5. Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro

The best premium Samsung smartwatch
SPECIFICATIONS
OS: Wear OS
Compatibility: Android
Display: 1.2″ 396 x 396 / 1.4″ 450 x 450 Super AMOLED
Processor: Dual-core 1.18GHz
Onboard storage: 16GB
Battery duration: 3 days on 44mm / less on 40mm
Charging method: Wireless
IP rating: IP68
Connectivity: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LTE (for extra)

This big, bold, and brazen review of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is written to assist outdoor enthusiasts. Its AMOLED display is twice as durable as the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 before it and is extremely smooth to use. With the Pro, you can plan your route carefully with turn-by-turn navigation and take advantage of all the upgraded health features.

You can get the best of both worlds with the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro because it combines the functionality of a Garmin watch with the style of a Wear OS device. Its 80-hour battery life is longer than that of most other Wear OS watches and other smartwatches overall.

6. Google Pixel Watch

The best Wear OS watch for style
SPECIFICATIONS
OS: Wear OS 3.5
Compatibility: Android 8.0 or higher
Display: 1.2″ OLED
Processor: Exynos 9110 (10nm)
Onboard storage: 32GB
Battery: 24 hours
Charging method: Wireless
IP rating: Water-resistant to 5 ATM
Connectivity: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, LTE

The Google Pixel Watch is a remarkable piece of wearable technology. With a glossy face that curves to meet a similarly curvy body, it has a natural-looking appearance as opposed to one that was manufactured. The building process is nearly seamless.

Because of that curve, there is more glass on the front of the device than on the Apple Watch 8, which enhances its elegance and, in our opinion, conceals a somewhat larger black bezel around the screen.

The screen size of this AMOLED display is considerably smaller than that of the Apple Watch 8’s rectangular face, but Google still manages to accomplish a lot. We never felt the need to want more.

7. TicWatch E3

The best cheap Android smartwatch powered by Wear OS
SPECIFICATIONS
OS: Wear OS
Compatibility: Android
Display: 1.3-inch 360 x 360 LCD
Processor: Snapdragon Wear 4100
Onboard storage: 8GB
Battery duration: Two days
Charging method: Qi wireless charging
IP rating: IP68
Connectivity: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS

Given its low price, the TicWatch E3 is a budget smartwatch with many features. This includes a large screen, quick performance, a two-day battery life, and many health and fitness features like tracking exercise, stress, sleep, etc.

The TicWatch E3 looks and feels a little cheap, but then again, it is cheap. In our tests, it also felt light and durable. The screen is LCD rather than OLED.

The TicWatch E3 is a good option if you want a smartwatch that does everything you’d expect it to do, outperforms some more expensive competitors for battery life, and is reasonably priced. However, this isn’t it if you want a smartwatch that also makes a fashion statement.

8. Fitbit Versa 3

The best Fitbit overall
SPECIFICATIONS
OS: Fitbit OS
Compatibility: Android, iOS
Display: 1.58″ AMOLED
Processor: N/A
Onboard storage: N/A
Battery duration: Up to 6 days
Charging method: Magnetic connecting pin
IP rating: Water resistant
Connectivity: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC

One of the top wristband companions for people who want to concentrate on fitness features is the Fitbit Versa 3. The Google Pixel Watch can’t compare to the best Fitbit wearable for automated fitness tracking even though Google owns Fitbit.

It has a built-in GPS, is comfortable to wear, and has a clear, easy-to-read display. This is primarily a fitness-focused smartwatch, similar to earlier Fitbit models, so it won’t appeal to everyone.

The Fitbit Versa 3 is a fantastic wearable, but it serves more as a fitness tracker than a smartwatch and has very few productivity apps available, as we noted in our review.

The Fitbit Versa 3 is a good option for wearable enthusiasts in general, and it’s also more reasonably priced than some of the other options on this list.

9. Fitbit Sense

An excellent Android smartwatch with mental health tools
SPECIFICATIONS
OS: Fitbit OS
Compatibility: Android, iOS
Display: 300 x 300 LCD
Processor: N/A
Onboard storage: N/A
Battery duration: Up to 6 days
Charging method: Magnetic connecting pin
IP rating: Water resistance to 50m
Connectivity: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth

The Versa ranked higher on this list, and the Fitbit Sense share many similarities in their designs and usability as Fitbits. Thought-provoking health features are included with this Android smartwatch model.

The Fitbit Sense has the capability—er, sense—to monitor certain facets of mental health, keep track of your stress levels and mood, and offer mindfulness and meditation training. Its main problem is that many of its supplemental features require Fitbit Premium, which is expensive. Not many other watches on this list require you to continue paying after you have purchased them.

During testing, we discovered it to be impressive in terms of performance. We put the Sense through a fairly rigorous spin session and didn’t notice any unexpected heart rate drops that suggest a problem with fitness trackers. Additionally, it vibrates to let you know when you change heart-rate zones, which is very helpful for training.

10. TicWatch Pro 3

The best Wear OS 2.0 Android smartwatch
SPECIFICATIONS
Compatibility: Android, iOS
Display: 1.4″ 454 x 454 OLED paired with LCD screen
Processor: Snapdragon Wear 4100
Onboard storage: 8GB
Battery duration: Up to 72h, 45 extra days in Essential mode
Charging method: Magnetic connecting pin
IP rating: IP68
Connectivity: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC

The TicWatch Pro 3 is a capable all-arounder that may not stand out in any particular category. But since it is also less expensive than top-tier competitors, it is unnecessary.

It has many positive attributes. One of the reasons performance is good in our tests is that it was the first smartwatch to use the top-tier Snapdragon 4100 chipset. Additionally, it has a battery life of two to three days or, if you switch to Essential mode, up to 45 days.

The TicWatch Pro 3 also has a good screen – a 1.4-inch 454 x 454 one that’s crisp, bright, and responsive. Plus the watch has all the typical health and fitness features you’d expect from a smartwatch. Just don’t buy this for sleep tracking, as we found that it wasn’t very accurate.

How To Choose The Best Smartwatch

Unfortunately, your choice of smartwatch often depends on your choice of phone, as not all wearables are compatible with competitor devices. Apple Watch only works with Apple iPhones. Samsung and Google watches, and other Wear OS devices, only work with Android devices, but you can use a Samsung watch with a Google phone and vice versa.

Fitness tracking wearables from Fitbit will work with any device and synchronize with the Fitbit app. Still, those devices tend to focus more sharply on fitness features and don’t offer all the robust apps and services you’ll find on other smartwatches.

Most wearables will get about a day of battery life, which will be disappointing if you’re converting from a Garmin watch that lasts weeks. You can find a few watches that last longer on this list.

What Should I Look For When Buying A Smartwatch?

The first thing to check is whether your phone is compatible with it – you can’t use an Apple Watch with an Android phone, and you can’t use a Google Pixel Watch with an iPhone. Beyond that, consider the battery life and the features – how often will you be happy charging it, and what do you really need from your watch? A simpler watch can be a better pick.
